Gempa 7,2 SR Guncang Sumatra Barat

Mentawai: Gempa bumi berkekuatan 7,2 pada skala Richter menggetarkan Mentawai, Sumatra Barat, Senin (25/10) sekitar pukul 21.42 WIB. Gempa ini berpotensi tsunami.

Laman Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) menyebut gempa berada di kedalaman 10 kilometer. Lokasi gempa di 3.61 lintang selatan; 99.93 bujur timur; atau sekitar 78 km barat daya pagai selatan Mentawai.

Gempa membuat warga Padang panik. Mereka, terutama yang ada di gedung bertingkat, kontan lari ke luar ruangan. Mereka cemas dan khawatir lindu kembali meluluhlantakkan Padang.

Selain di Padang, goyangan gempa juga dirasakan warga Payakumbuh, Pasaman Barat, Padang Pariaman, pesisir selatan, dan Pariaman.
